A
climbing
gym refers to a place that provides artificial climbing walls and
boulders to enable people of all ages to undertake climbing activities, either
indoor or outdoor.

Hospitality establishments and other
public amenities, including recreational centers, such as RCCs, VRCs, and NRCs;
public and amusement parks; shopping centers; and public play areas have
witnessed a major transformation during 2012-2017 in terms of variety of
services offered to the public. The introduction of climbing gyms, trampoline
parks, and other experiential activities in these places has made these places
more attractive to Millennials, young people, and children.
Major vendors operating in the market
are offering climbing gyms in different locations to catch the attention of
people. For instance, Planet Granite, a subsidiary of El Cap, offers climbing
gyms in prime shopping center locations in Chicago. Additionally, Whitney Peak
Hotel LLC offers Basecamp, a 7,000-square-foot indoor competition level
bouldering park for visitors. Vendors are setting up climbing gyms in major
public and commercial locations to attract new climbers. Hence, the increasing
popularity of climbing gyms in public areas is expected to fuel the growth of
the global climbing gym market at a CAGR of 7.24% during the forecast period.
